This is essential training for anyone who might act as nominee on an Ofsted FE & Skills Inspection. This informative and interactive training is delivered by former Ofsted inspectors who will explain the role and responsibilities of the nominee.

Whether you are experienced or a new nominee, this is a role with huge responsibility. You need to show your organisation in its best light and be prepared and ready for your Ofsted inspection.

When striving for excellence, it is often helpful to have expert guidance and support. Our consultants are experts across a wide range of educational sectors and have all held senior management and leadership positions in education. All our consultants have worked as Ofsted inspectors and have extensive experience and knowledge of the inspection process and requirements.

This course has been completely updated and includes changes in the latest Ofsted documents including:

  • Further Education and Skills Handbook
  • Inspecting safeguarding in early years, education and skills

Description

Learning outcomes covered in the session:

  • Define the role of an Ofsted nominee
  • Planning and preparing for your Ofsted inspection
  • Identifying the requirements of the nominee role during inspection

The training event is 3 hours remote and interactive training. Our trainers are live online via Teams. Our trainers are both former Ofsted inspectors and have significant experience of the current Ofsted inspection arrangements and receive exceptional feedback from delegates.

About the trainers

Our trainers are both former Ofsted inspector and have significant experience of the current Ofsted inspection arrangements and received exception feedback from delegates. Our consultants have worked with an extensive range of clients, from major public sector, including NHS Trusts, to smaller training providers and large FE colleges. We provide support to new apprenticeship employer providers to support their understanding of apprenticeship requirements to ensure they feel prepared for their Ofsted monitoring visit. We work with existing apprenticeship and adult education providers, including SEN provision, to guide them towards outstanding. Additionally, we have specialists safeguarding consultants who provide a range of services including safeguarding quality audits, guidance around policies and procedures.

Anne Horn

Anne has worked in education for over 20 years and is passionate about high quality teaching and training. Anne led her department to outstanding for over consecutive 10 years. Anne’s prior experiences as an Ofsted Inspector allows her to provide support to schools, colleges and training providers as a consultant offering pre inspection support and guidance.

Sam Sutton

Sam has many years experience working in the further education sector; leading on apprenticeship provision, vocational and professional qualifications for adults and study programmes for young people. As a former member of the senior leadership team of a College she was responsible for delivering high quality provision. Sam has worked as an Ofsted Inspector. Sam’s sector expertise is wide ranging, and she is passionate about high quality training and assessment.

It is suitable for personnel from all FE & Skills organisations subject to inspection by Ofsted under the Education Inspection Framework. This includes colleges, private work-based learning training providers, apprenticeship training providers and adult community learning providers.

The content in respect of presenting evidence, questioning and challenging findings is highly relevant to everyone in the sector.

This training is not intended for staff from schools or academies. Nor is it intended to provide a detailed update on safeguarding or data.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
